Location
Your indoor session will take place at my relaxed in-home studio. Outdoor sessions can take place at the location of your choice. Including your home, backyard, local park, my yard, my in-home studio, etc. Additional travel fees may apply for locations greater than 20 miles from Auburn Hills, Michigan. Outdoor locations are weather permitting. Sessions generally last up to 2 hours. We’ll work at your child’s pace, allowing time for breaks and feedings as necessary.
What to wear
Simple clothing in solid colors looks best. Textured sweaters photograph nicely, especially for black and white. Avoid busy patterns and logos as these tend to distract from the subject. If you have something with a pattern that you love, bring it anyway. For newborns and infants, bare skin makes beautiful portraits. For newborns It’s also helpful if Mom and/or Dad wears a very dark long sleeve shirt. Bare feet are preferred on children. When photographing a family or group, please wear clothing in similar tones – all dark or all light.
Maternity sessions
Maternity sessions should take place at 33-36 weeks.
Newborn sessions
It is best to book your newborn session within the first 2 weeks with 5-6 days being ideal. Newborn sessions usually take more time than other sessions and can last from 2-4 hours.
